Clarify What You Really Want in Your Retirement

This is the fourth of my seven core principles when facing the challenges of retirement.

Step 1. What are your hopes and dreams for your time in retirement? Write them down and date them.

Step 2. Think about your current life considering the 5 F’s. What are the 5 F’s?

Faith/Future – we need to believe in something greater than ourselves.

Family /Friends-strong connections through close personal relationships with open communication are important.

Fitness – maintaining good physical and mental health is essential.

Finances– have your finances in order; enough to meet your needs.

Fulfillment– what brings joy and purpose into your life?

To be truly successful in life, I believe fulfillment is the end goal. By setting goals for the first four F’s, future/faith, family and friends, both physical and mental fitness, and finally finances. we are more likely to achieve the joy fulfillment brings by living our purpose in life. Retirement is about recreating a life that is purpose driven and it is achievable even when it feels impossible.

In which area of your life do you need to set some new goals to attain those retirement hopes and dreams?
