Get Your Own House in Order First

Today my challenge to you is to be totally honest with yourself. As a mature nurturing professional in health, education and social work I imagine you spend the majority of time thinking and doing for your clients, patients and students i.e. for others.

What’s on your mind when it comes to your own house?

Is it a sense of being too busy to have time for yourself or to have quality connections with your partner, your children, other family members and friends?

Assess how does this show up in the reality of your work life.

When will you make time to ‘be there’ for your partner, children and others?

How will work look if you do devote more time to family and friends?

I challenge you to note and record the time you currently devote to work. What proportion of your waking hours does it take out of your week?

Compare this to the time you spend thinking about your own needs and the needs of those you share your life with. Note and record this. Also date the data.

Let me know how you go. I would love to hear what you discover.
